How to Do a Sidewinder on a Skateboard

1
Get into a normal 50-50 position. 50-50 means your weight is over both trucks equally. The trucks are the axle assemblies that attach the wheels to the board.
-
2
Keep your center of gravity over the board while you transfer your weight from one end of the board to the other. It sounds easy but it isn't. Balance is key. It will look as though you are rocking the board with one end up in the air and then the other. Lift one foot up and place it above the truck at the board's nose at the same time the nose drops down.
-
3
Reach over to grab the wheel on the toeside at the rear truck at the same time your foot is moving onto the board's nose. This is where good balance comes in.
-
4
Transfer your weight. Hop up and push down with your front foot to smack the board's nose on the pavement. At the same time, lift the back truck with your hand. This puts you in a Switch Hand Casper placement.

5
Practice. The transfer from side to side is the most difficult part, but once you've practiced it enough, you'll be able to execute some amazing transfers and end it in combinations.
