How to Ollie Farther

1
Get your basic ollie down. Your basic, stationary ollie should be strong before you try to improve your distance. You should be landing your ollies consistently and able to have some control over your height before you attempt to better your distance.
-
2
Gather some speed. The first component in an improved distance ollie is forward motion. Start out at a moderate speed and then perform your ollie. Even though you might notice that your ollie isn't getting that much farther, it's important for you to practice ollying in motion.

3
Hit the height. In order to truly improve ollie distance you must improve the trajectory of the ollie by getting better height. Pop your back foot hard and jump as high as you can while keeping the board level and with you during the jump.
-
4
Put something in your way. Start out by putting a flat object in your way for you to ollie over. Use something shorter rather than longer to start. As you improve, try to ollie over a longer object. If progress continues, add objects that are long and have some height so you're forced to perform confident, high ollies that take you over some serious distance.
-
5
Do some real world skateboarding. The best way to improve your ollie distance is to get out on the street and start skateboarding. Your goal should be to get off the board as little as possible and instead use your ollie to get over and across obstacles.
