Amenities include a warming house and a trail center equipped with a fireplace, picnic tables and restroom facilities.
Hillriver State Forest

Explore the snowy forest roads of Hillriver State Forest. The trail is filled with rolling hills and passes through the Hill and Willow rivers. The path is lined with thick woods of snow-covered oak, maple, elm, ash and basswood. You can also expect to see covers of birch, spruce, cedar and aspen. The forest spans 124,204 acres and passes through the counties of Atkin, Cass, Itasca and Crow Wing. Snowmobile trails are well-groomed and are open from December to March 31, according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
Savanna Portage State Park

Take your snowmobile to the 15,818-acre Savanna Portage State Park, filled with sights such as rolling hills, bogs and lakes. The park maintains 32 miles of snowmobiling trails. Take a multiple day trip and use the park facilities such as year-round cabin camping and a warming house at the contact station. Other activities include cross-county skiing and snow shoeing.
Soo Line Trail

Ride through 49 miles of the Soo Line Trail that traverses the Chippewa National Forest. According to the USDA Forest Service, Soo Line is the longest motorized recreation trail in the state. The trail goes from Cass Lake to Moose Lake and features sights along the way such as lake views, woodlands and frozen wetlands. Connect to more than 200 miles of snowmobiling routes that surround the forest, including the Paul Bunyan trail.
