How to Try Out for the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders

The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders are one of the NFL's most loved and recognized cheerleading teams. Known for their striking looks, beautiful bodies and impressive dance techniques, these talented ladies perform for sold out crowds and a television audience of millions. If you think you have what it takes to wear that famous blue and white uniform, learn what it takes to try-out.

      Meet the minimum requirements. If you want to try out for the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, there are specific requirements you must meet. Graduate from high school or obtain the G.E.D. equivalent. Live in the Dallas, Ft. Worth area or have access to reliable transportation that will get you there. Have an open schedule so that you can attend all of the practice sessions and be at least 18 years old by the time try-outs begin.

      Look the part. Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders must look good in their uniforms. Your body should have an athletic look so that you appear lean in the uniform. See what your body looks like in regular dance wear to make sure it is well proportioned. Spend time exercising and toning your body before try-outs begin.

      Register for try-outs. Print the registration form online at Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. Fill out it completely and pay the one time registration fee. Submit a photo of yourself along with the completed registration packet to Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Auditions, One Cowboys Parkway, Irving, Texas 75063-4945. Wait for notification that your registration packet has been received.

      Get the correct attire. At the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleading Auditions, you must wear a sports bra on top and hot pants on bottom. Wear flesh-colored tights underneath your shorts, of the non-shimmery variety. Your shoes should be dance shoes, jazz shoes, ballet shoes, or character shoes.

      Show up prepared. When you participate in try-outs, bring your driver's license or passport as proof of your identification. Pack an extra change of clothes, in addition to your water bottle, make-up and hair accessories. Bring your lunch and snacks as try-outs are an all-day affair.
