How to Do Professional Wrestling Moves

Professional wrestling is a lot more than simply kicking and punching. Every night, professional wrestlers step into the squared circle to compete and they perform a wide array of wrestling moves, some as simple as a headlock and some as advanced as a shooting star press. It may take some time to master the basic wrestling moves, but once you do, you will be well on your way to becoming a professional wrestler.

  1. Irish Whip

      Grab your opponent at the wrist and behind the shoulder. The Irish whip is a common wrestling move that is used in nearly every single match and can be used in a variety of ways.

      Pull your opponent towards you with a large tug.

    • 3

      Let him pass by you and push off of his back as you let go of their shoulder and wrist. He will go running into the ropes or the corner of the ring.

      Use this move during a Royal Rumble to help knock opponents out of the ring.

    Hip Toss

      Irish whip your opponent across the ropes.

    • 6

      Turn your back away from your opponent, but keep an eye on her so she does not attack from behind.

      Hook your arm underneath your opponent’s arm as he runs towards you.

      Flip her over and slam her body onto the mat below.

    Bulldog

      Position yourself so that your opponent’s back is facing you.

    • 10

      Charge at your opponent with great speed.

    • 11

      Jump up into the air and put his head into a headlock with your arm.

      Slam your opponent’s head into the mat below to successfully perform a bulldog.

      Perform this move off of the top rope to give your opponent more damage

    Suplex

      Kick your opponent in the gut as she is facing you.

    • 15

      Take your strong arm and grab onto his pants or tights at the mid-section.

    • 16

      Hook her head underneath your other arm and lift her straight up into the air.

    • 17

      Flip him back and slam him down hard onto the mat below.
