How to Be a Professional Wrestling Heel
Instructions

1
Know what to do to rile up the crowd. In today's wrestling world, WWE champion Randy Orton is without a doubt the best heel around. He has no real catch phrases, and no huge gimmick, yet he goes over with the crowd like few ever have.

2
Keep it simple and do not be afraid to let the opponent shine for a bit. Total domination over your opponent is boring and will lose an audience quickly. When your opponent gets on a roll, be sure to play it up. Give the crowd every dime's worth by letting them see you get whipped (even if it is for a short time).
-
3
Hold onto the crowd interaction for as long as they continue. Many times a heel will jibe back and forth with the crowd and then just walk away. Orton will stare aimlessly into the crowd as they yell and not even say a word. It drives the fans crazy because he is so arrogant that he rarely even responds. Most heels must respond in some way. Feel out your own rhythm here.

4
Complete the match with flair. You have to have an awesome finishing move to be a great heel. If you have a lame one, you will not last. The best heels always have a devastating finishing move.
-
5
Make sure that you do what they think you will not do. If you become predictable, you will not be hated...you will be boring. Be unpredictable and always bring something new to the mat.
