How to Win a WWE Royal Rumble

Every year in January, World Wrestling Entertainment holds its Royal Rumble. This popular pay per view extravaganza features thirty WWE superstars battling it in out in a WWE ring to see who will be the last man standing and headed to Wrestlemania for a world title shot. The key to eliminating opponents is throwing them over the top rope and making sure both feet hit the ground. Winning the Royal Rumble is a rare and honored occasion that is very tough to master.

Understand the draw. A lot of your chance at winning the WWE Royal Rumble will rely on the draw. There are thirty men and with each one coming out every 90 seconds, the later you arrive to the ring, the better. The most Royal Rumble winners have drawn the number 27. While 30 may seem like the best number to draw, it was not a winning number until the 2007 Royal Rumble when the Undertaker got the victory.

Gauge your opponents. The opponent factor is also a key element during the Royal Rumble. You are bound to collide with any of the 29 other superstars, but the more you can avoid the better. Stay away from bigger wrestlers that can throw you over the top rope easily like Kane or Umaga. Do not attempt to throw them out either unless there is already a gang of wrestlers working on it.

Lay low. The key to elimination from the Royal Rumble is being thrown over the top rope, so if you stay low on the mat it will take a lot more work for someone to pick you up and throw you over the top. Also staying low may keep you out of a wrestler’s eyesight and avoid confrontation.

Remain offensive. Instead of holding back, try going on the offensive. This has worked several times for Stone Cold Steve Austin, who has more eliminations than anybody in a Royal Rumble. He has also won three Royal Rumbles and is one of the best competitors inside a WWE ring.

Try a sneak attack to eliminate as many superstars as you can by attacking them from behind. Sure it may be a dirty tactic, but anything goes in a Royal Rumble and that can get you one step further to actually winning it.
