Instructions

    • 1

Fill out a polo match score card with the name of the event, players names and handicaps. This will provide you with the basics needed to score the polo match as it is occurring.

    • 2

Mark a goal in the box that indicates the player who scored the goal and the chukker, or period, in which the goal was scored. Only one player is credited with a goal. Mark the goal with letters indicating how many goals were scored, the first being marked with an "A" and the second with a "B."

    • 3

Record the number of knock-ins, which are goals shot but missed. These are not assessed toward players; but are recorded in a team box beneath the chukker they occurred in.

    • 4

Indicate the number of penalties in the box beneath the chukker in which they occurred. If a goal results from a penalty, circle that penalty number to indicate a goal scored.

    • 5

Tally the totals at the end of the polo match. The goals scored as a result of a penalty do count as one goal. Penalties and knock ins are tallied but do not effect the final score of the polo match.

    • 6

Calculate handicaps if playing specific types of tournaments. Total each team handicap to determine the difference. That number is divided by six and then multiplied by the number of chukkers in the match. That number is added to the total goals scored by the team with the lower handicap. A fraction is counted as a half of a goal.
