How to Write a Letter to Bud Selig

Bud Selig, the commissioner of Major League Baseball, accepts mail at two official addresses. Send your ideas for the future of baseball to the commissioner, or give him your opinions of the way he handled a number of controversial events in baseball, including the strike of 1994, interleague play and the Mitchell Report. If you send an item for autograph, such as a photo or baseball, allow up to three months for your item to be returned.

      Type your letter or request. Format your letter with your name and address in the upper, left hand corner. Leave a space, then type the date below your address. Skip another line. Type Mr. Selig's name, title and full address. Skip a line, then type "Dear Mr. Selig."

      Introduce yourself and the purpose of your communication in the body of your letter. Sign off your letter with your name. If you have included an item for autographing, type the word "enclosure" below your name.
