How to Sell Sports Collectibles
Instructions

-
1
Research to find out exactly what it is you are trying to sell. If it's a baseball card, find out the card maker and the year the card was made. If it's an autograph, get information on who the autograph is by and any other noteworthy tidbits associated with it.
-
2
Get your sports collectible item appraised. Depending on the item, the appraisal process can be as simple as finding a price guide on the Internet or as difficult as locating a professional appraiser. When dealing with any appraisal service, make sure the source is reliable.
-
3
Decide on a selling price. The price should be comparable to the appraised value.
-
4
Seek out interested buyers. Visit sports collectible themed shops in your area and see if they are interested in buying your item for the price you are asking. If that isn't fruitful, post the item for sale on a free site like Craig's List or on an auction site like eBay.
-
5
Verify payment before handing over the item. This is especially true when dealing with someone over the Internet.
