Ideas for Baseball Banners
-
Supportive Banner
-
Create a banner showing support for a favorite player, like Derek Jeter or Albert Pujols. It's not enough to show Pujols swinging a bat. Make a banner with Pujols in his Cardinals uniform, sitting on a throne and wearing a crown. Call him "King Albert," and don't be surprised if the Cardinals announcers refer to your banner on the air. At the same time you are setting high standards for Albert, you are sending a message to opponents that something bad is about to happen.
Derisive Banner
-
Come up with a series of banners that you can raise when your team's opponent makes mistakes. For example, if the opposing second baseman bobbles an easy ground ball for an error, have a sign that says "Look Ma, No Hands," and lift it up. The roar of the crowd will tell the second baseman his miscue has been noticed ... and appreciated.
Calendar Banner
-
Baseball is a game of important dates. Everybody looks forward to Opening Day in April and the All-Star game in mid-July. However, baseball fans want to see their team get to the World Series. When you are supporting a team in the midst of a championship-caliber season, bring a banner to the stadium and hang it from a prominent spot in the upper deck that says "Only (xx) Days to the World Series at (Your) Stadium." You will have to fill in the name of the stadium to show support for your home team and change the number of days in accordance with the calendar. Players and fans will look for your sign during every home game.
