How to Make Scoreboards

Whether you are participating in a sport or cheering from the sidelines, make a scoreboard to help keep track of how your team is doing. If the sports venue has an electronic scoreboard, yours will be closer to you and more visible as well as give you a fun way to keep score, or use it during your next pick-up game at the park. Coaches can use homemade scoreboards during practice games or coaching exercises.

Instructions

    • 1

Label each spiral-bound card set with scores, beginning with the lowest score and moving up to the highest possible numbers. For example, soccer scores would begin with "1" and move consecutively up to "10" or "15." Although the likelihood of scoring this many goals during a game is slim, you won't run out of scores for practice events.

    • 2

Attach the cards to the artist easel with the binder clips, with the home team on one side and visitors on the other. If you're extra creative, make a label out of cardboard that says "Home" and "Visitors" and attach it above the cards.

Stand the easel in a visible, easily accessible place. As the teams score, turn the cards and reattach them using the binder clip, so the correct score is always visible.
