How to Make a Steelers Mask

As football season approaches, fans prepare to attend their favorite team's games in full team gear. The stands are a mix of fans who dress casually in a team t-shirt or jersey and fans who go all out, painting their bodies and wearing masks. Pittsburgh Steelers fans are no different. The stands will be filled with Terrible Towels and cheering for the "Steel Curtain." If you're planning to attend a Steelers game, you can make your own mask so you'll fit in.

Things You'll Need

  • Full-face Halloween mask with elastic strap
  • Goldenrod/yellow paint
  • Black paint
  • White paint
  • Adhesive Steelers logo

Instructions

      Draw a vertical line from the top of the mask to the bottom of the mask, centered in the middle.

      Paint the left side of the mask black, applying one layer of black so that there is a little bit of transparency. Leave a 1/4-inch space between the paint and the center line.

      Paint the right side of the mask yellow, applying multiple layers so that the yellow is bold . Leave a 1/4-inch space between the paint and the center line. Allow both sides to dry.

      Paint a white stripe down the middle of the mask to cover the line and overlap the black and gold sides. While the white paint is drying, paint "eye black" lines underneath eyehole openings on the mask. Allow all the paint to dry for eight hours.

      Affix the Steelers logo to the center of the mask's forehead.
