1
Decide where you want to put the stadium seats. They often come in sets of two or three, and the seats are heavy, so you probably won’t want to move them around a lot. Stadium seats also don’t really fit in with most family room decorating schemes, so they should probably go in a garage or sports room.

2
Prepare the area where you’re going to place the seats. This is particularly important if you’re going to bolt them directly into your floor. Make sure that you’ll be able to move things around in the room and vacuum the floor easily. If the floor is carpeted, cut the carpet in the shape needed by the feet of the seats. If you don’t want to cut your expensive carpet, cover it with a piece of plywood to create a flat surface for your seat.

3
If you have multiple sets of stadium seats, consider arranging them on different levels to recreate the way they are installed in ballparks. To do this, use 1-inch plywood to build a platform for your second level. Be careful not to go overboard; the platform should only be a few inches high.

4
Use a power drill to make holes in the prepared floor. Be very careful not to cut any power or other utility lines that may be strung through the floor. (This includes water pipes.) A stud finder may make it easier to find these obstacles.
-
5
Place your stadium seats on the floor, right over the holes you made. It might be helpful to shine a flashlight through the seat’s base posts so you can make sure everything is lining up. Thread a bolt through the seat’s base post and through the floor. Have a friend hold the bolt in place with a screwdriver or monkey wrench while you go to the floor below and tighten the nut around the threads.

Take a load off and enjoy the stadium seat experience at home.
