How to Tie a String Loop on a Compound Bow
Things You'll Need
- Braided rope string, 5 to 6 inches long
- Lighter
- Bow string
Instructions

1
Lightly singe the ends of the rope string with a lighter on either side to create a solid base. This will help ensure a tight knot that won't easily slip out of place.
-
2
Loop the rope around the bowstring slightly above the ideal arrow position, leaving at least one-half inch of rope beyond the bowstring.
-
3
Pull the rope back around the bowstring and cross it over the half-inch portion.
-
4
Wrap once more around the bowstring just underneath the initial wrap, leaving a small gap between the rope and bowstring just large enough to fit the rope through.
-
5
Pull the remaining length of rope through the small gap and tighten securely to create a knot.
-
6
Form a "D" shape with at least three inches of rope and begin a new knot about two inches below the first one.
-
7
Wrap the rope around the bowstring once more.
-
8
Cross the remaining length of rope slightly over the initial loop of the second knot.
-
9
Wrap the rope around the bowstring, leaving a small gap as in Step 4.
-
10
Pull a bit of rope -- about an inch -- through the small gap and pull down tight to make a knot.
