A stabilizer is an important addition to most compound bows. It adds weight to keep the bow steady in your hand and also reduces vibration when the string is released. This will decrease noise when the bow is fired. A good stabilizer will also help improve accuracy.

Decide what length stabilizer you need. Target shooters use longer stabilizers to decrease vibration and increase accuracy. Hunters tend to prefer shorter stabilizers because they can be carried around the woods without catching on limbs and brush.

Take your bow to an archery pro shop and shoot with as many different stabilizers as possible.

Choose the stabilizer that feels the most comfortable.You'll know when you find the right one. The bow will feel balanced at full draw and you will feel very little vibration when you release an arrow.
