Instructions

    • 1

Remove the old string from the bow. After it has sat for at least three hours, wrap one end loop around a nail or sturdy anchor point and hand stretch the string so it is tight without any slack. Take a measurement from tip to tip of the string. This will be the length to refer to when purchasing replacement.

    • 2

Look for the bow's Archery Manufacturer's Organization (AMO) length if you do not have an old bowstring to measure. The length should be printed on the inside of the bow's limb.

    • 3

Measure the length using a tailor-style tape measure If you are unable to locate an AMO marking on the bow. Measure from string nock groove to string nock groove, keeping the tape flat against the inside of the bow.

    • 4

Determine the proper string length by subtracting 3 inches from the AMO length or your measured length.
