How to Look Good in a Baseball Uniform

Baseball uniforms are designed to ensure each player on the team looks identical. Worn correctly, uniforms look good on players and, in turn, make the team look good. The proper way to wear a baseball uniform has evolved with each generation. For example, in the late 1980s and early 1990s, players wore tight pants showing the stripe on the side of their socks. Today, players most commonly choose longer, looser fitting pants.

Instructions

    • 1

Put on baseball pants. In order to look good, the pants must be worn correctly. Pull up pants so that the elastic is around the waist. The top of the pants never should fall below the tops of the hips. Leg bottoms should be pulled down near the ankles, so no socks or stirrups are showing, though some players keep the bottom of their pants just below the knee.

Button up or pull over your jersey. Regardless of the style of jersey, it needs to be tucked tightly and evenly into the pants. Baseball players do not wear their jerseys untucked.

Place the hat on your head. The hat should be centered on your head with the bill facing forward. The bill of the hat should have a slight bend in it. The hat should not be worn backward or sideways.
