How to Shrink a Ball Cap

Baseball caps are traditionally made of wool, and are meant to closely fit around the head. If you purchase a cap and find it is a bit too big, you will want to shrink it for a better fit. You must use caution in this process, or you may over shrink your cap or potentially ruin your cap's color. Wet the cap with warm water and wear it as it dries, which will shrink to fit your head like a glove.

     Spray the band inside your cap with warm water. You want the cap to be damp but not fully saturated or dripping.

     Rinse the cap quickly with cold water. Use a hand dryer if the color begins to bleed.
