How to Fit a Swim Cap
Various styles of caps are available at sports stores and beachwear shopping outlets. Swim cap sizes are generally universal and unisex, though smaller sizes are available for youths and infants. Some pools insist swimmers wear a cap before entering the water since loose hair clogs the swimming pool pump systems. A cap will also protect your hair and scalp from chlorine in the pool water and keep long hair out of your face. The cap should be fitted before entering the pool.

1
Position long hair into a bun and secure with a ponytail holder. Try to position the hair in an even spread around the head. You may also wear goggles so ensure the strap will fit evenly over your hair.
-
2
Hold the swim cap in front of you with both thumbs inside the opening. Ensure the cap is facing with the front toward you.
-
3
Bow the head slightly and place the front of your cap on the forehead. The center of the cap should run directly over the middle of your head.
-
4
Stretch the cap back over your head so the back covers your hairline.
-
5
Pull the cap down over your ears at the sides and tuck in loose strands of hair.
