How do I Clean Black Baseball Hats?

Stains can stand out on a baseball hat, even if the cap is a black one. The brim of the baseball hat will get dirty due to sweat and dirt being transferred from your head onto the brim. Washing baseball hats the improper way could cause tears or holes in the hat, or warp the hat beyond recognition. The safest and most effective way of cleaning any baseball hat that you own is to hand wash the hat.

Instructions

    • 1

Rinse the black baseball hat with cool tap water. This can help to release dirt and other particles from the cap.

    • 2

Pour roughly 1/4 cup liquid laundry detergent into your sink or bucket. Fill the rest of the sink or bucket with cool water.

    • 3

Place the black baseball cap inside the soapy water. Soak the hat for approximately one hour.

    • 4

Remove the cap from the soapy water.

    • 5

Rinse the hat thoroughly with cool water once more. Rinse until you no longer see any soap bubbles remaining on the hat.

    • 6

Place the hat over a ball, coffee can or similar round item so it can air dry. Place the hat outdoors or in front of a fan to speed up the drying process.
