1
Loosen the retaining bolt under the seat to lower or raise the seat to your desired height. Loosen the bolt just enough to push the seat side-to-side to adjust the height. As a general rule with cruiser bikes such as the Point Beach, keep the seat just high enough so you have a 45-degree angle at your knees when pedaling. You should also be able to touch a foot or toe to the ground when sitting still. Tighten the bolt after adjusting the seat height.

2
Pedal and click through the gears using the right hand shifter. Push out on the shifter lever to increase the gear and push the shifter in toward the bike to downshift.
-
3
Use the right brake lever to slow and arrest the rear wheel. Use this as the primary brake to prevent unwanted TOBs (Trips Over the Bars). Use the left brake to slow and stop the front wheel. This is the stronger of the two brakes. Use it by feathering it gently while applying generous right brake.
-
4
Strap panniers (bicycle bags) or baskets to the rear rack via straps and bungees, making sure they do not hang where they catch the spokes.
-
5
Press down on the kickstand on the left side of the bike with your left foot and rest the bicycle on the stand when heading out for beach or urban fun.
