Information About the Mongoose Fuzz Pro

Mongoose established a name for itself during the BMX racing boom of the 1970s. As BMX cycling opened the gates for freestyle dirt jumping and half-pipe performances, the company kept pace with the times and kept producing competition level bikes.
  1. Frame and Fork

    • The backbone of the Mongoose Fuzz Pro bike was a tungsten inert gas (TIG)-welded chromoly frame with reinforced gussets for the extra stresses of dirt jumping. This frame was mounted to a standard unicrown chromoly rigid fork.

    Freestyle Accessories

    • Fuzz Pro models came equipped with gyro-style headsets. These headsets allow you to spin the handlebars completely around while the front brake cable stays affixed in one position without getting wrapped up. This lets you pull off mid-air bar spins. Some model years came with pegs, while some did not.

    Wheel Features

    • Mongoose outfitted the Fuzz Pro with 48-spoke rims. The high spoke count on the small 20-inch rims allows for a very rigid wheel that offers the utmost strength to handle the stresses of landing jumps as high as 20 feet.
