How to Remove Zipp Decals

Zipp Speed Weaponry is a well known bicycle parts company located in Indianapolis that sells a number of bicycle related products to the cycling and triathlon industry. Zipp wheelsets are a favorite among competitive cyclists. A trademark of Zipp bicycle tires are Zipp decals which cover a large surface on both sides of the tire. Over time, the decals can become worn and faded. Removing the decals is fairly simple and requires basic tools.

  • Hair dryer
  • Utility knife
  • Rag
  • Acetone

      Clean the area around the decal with soap and water.

      Use a hair dryer to heat the entire decal.

      Locate the edge of the decal with your fingernail or a utility knife and peel up an edge. Pull on the decal to remove it from the tire. If the decal does not fully come off, continue applying heat until the decal loosens.

      Use a rag and acetone to clean off any residue left by the decal.
