Instructions for Rhode Gear Cycle Shuttle Bike Racks

Rhode Gear's Cycle Shuttle rack is a trunk attachment rack that carries up to four bicycles. This rack uses nylon webbing and rubber hooks to attach to the bumper and trunk hinge in securing the rack to the car. Benefits to this style of rack include taking the rack off, breaking it down and storing it in the trunk for security and safety when riding and the vehicle is parked.

      Turn the dials on the side of the Rhode Gear Cycle Shuttle and pull the rack bars apart. Pull out the two webbing straps at the top and the two at the bottom of the rack so they are knot free.

      Place the rack onto the trunk of the car so the rubber gaskets rest on the car bumper and the top of the trunk. Push the rack bars in so they fit snug against the car, then turn the dials to secure them in this position.

      Loop the two top strap hooks to the lip of the trunk hinge. Loop the bottom two straps under the vehicle bumper. Pull the webbing tightener slider up to secure the bottom straps.

      Pull down on the webbing strap slider at the top two straps to snug the rack securely to the car.

      Load the bicycles onto the bike cradles and bring the rubber restraining straps over the bicycle top tube and lock the strap onto the cradle strap fids. Load other bicycles so the handlebars are on the opposite side of the first bike for each additional bicycle.
