Installation Instructions for the Rhode Gear Cycle Shuttle
Rhode Gear racks are made to go over the trunk of autos, allowing the transport of bicycles off the back. Rhode Gear makes the racks to attach to the auto with no tools, allowing for quick attachment and removal when not needed. A series of nylon straps with rubber encased hooks (to prevent any rub or scratching to the auto paint) connect into the trunk seam and under the car's bumper. Rhode Gear is made by Yakima Racks, a larger parent rack company.

1
Turn the yellow dial-knob on the right-hand side of the Rhode Gear Bicycle Shuttle rack. Open the two sets of bars so they are at 45 degrees. Stretch out the webbing straps so they go directly out from each corner.
-
2
Place the rack, with the bicycle saddles facing up, over the rear end of the trunk. Push the bars in to snug them against the trunk and to the rear bumper of the car.
-
3
Hook the top strap-hooks under the trunk seam.
-
4
Connect the bottom hooks to the tow hooks under the rear of the auto, or to the under-lip along the bottom of the bumper.
-
5
Pull each strap as tight as possible, and watch the rack get tight and snug against the car trunk.
