How to Customize Your Own Cycling Jersey

Due to the chemicals needed to print bicycling jerseys -- in a process called sublimation -- it is not safe to do the printing or customizing at home. To get a custom jersey, go to custom printers that specialize in bicycle clothing. Use templates or software to design your jersey and place the order or submit the artwork for the final design. There are cycling makers with no minimum order requirements, should you wish to design and buy only one custom jersey.

Instructions

    • 1

Browse the Internet to find the websites of custom cycling jersey companies. Examples include Voler and Custom Cycling Clothing. Follow the links to the Design and Gallery links.

    • 2

Download any design software available through the company. Design your jersey, keeping it simple. The more successful custom jerseys often use less than three colors and have one color for text. View your design onscreen to get an idea of how it looks.

    • 3

Save the jersey design. If your computer allows export to file formats, export the saved files into a .jpg or .pdf. Email the company the .jpg or .pdf file with your custom jersey design along with the quantity of jerseys desired, their sizes and your shipping address. The companies will send you an invoice for your approval along with a final proof of the jersey.

    • 4

Review the image of the jersey and approve or make notations for changes.

    • 5

Remit the payment and send the reviewed jersey image to the company. Many companies have secured websites where credit and debit card payments are made. Be sure to check jersey design and payment information once more before hitting submit.
