Montego Bike Assembly: Front Fender
Montego bicycles are made for cruising and beach rides. These casual-style bicycles come with front and rear fenders. The fenders help to shed sand, dirt and mud as you pedal along. The front fender uses an attachment screw under the down tube of the fork. Just above this attachment is a reflector for safety. Installing the front fender requires screwing the set-screw tightly into position with the fender in place.

1
Unscrew the connector lugs on the front tire. The lugs are the nuts used to secure the wheel to the fork. Unscrew them and remove the front tire.
-
2
Place the front fender with the longer portion going behind the fork tube and the short facing forward. Align the hole on the fender to the screw attachment on the fork frame.
-
3
Place the screw into the hole and tighten as hard as possible. Keep the fender facing straight and parallel to the bicycle while tightening.
-
4
Place the tire back on the fork and attach the lug nuts. Pedal the bicycle to ensure there is no rub from the fender on the tire. If so, remove the tire and tighten the fender further to get rid of the fender rub on the tire.
