Electra Hawaii 16 Assembly Instructions

The "Hawaii" is a 16-inch, single-speed bicycle designed by Electra Bicycle Co. Electra is a California-based bicycle manufacturer, formed in 1993, that was largely responsible for the resurgence of the "cruiser" style of bicycle so common between the 1950s and early 1970s. The Electra Hawaii comes equipped with training wheels and stylish fenders for the young miss. The Electra comes partially assembled; however, the front wheel, seat and handlebars do need to be put together.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the front fender (the shorter of the two fenders with the bike) between the front forks and line up the mounting hole on the fender front with the mounting hole under the forks. Slip the screw through and tighten it with a screwdriver. Slip the end of the fender brace, which is attached to the front fender, into the small hole at the bottom of the base of the front forks behind where the front wheel mounts.

    • 2

Slide the front wheel onto the end of the front forks and tighten the retaining bolts on each side with a socket wrench.

    • 3

Slide the bottom end of the handlebar assembly into the top of the frame and use a pipe wrench to tighten it. Hold the handlebars in the position that is comfortable for the child and then tighten with an Allen wrench.

    • 4

Slide the seat rod into the seat hole on the frame. Position the seat at a height that is comfortable for the child and then tighten it with a wrench.

    • 5

Loosen and remove the rear wheel bolts to slip the training wheels on or to remove them if your child does not need them. Place the bolts back on by hand and tighten them with a wrench.
