How to Use the Four Step Bowling Approach
Instructions

1
Position your body with your feet are next to each other so you start from a secure step. Bend the arm with your bowling ball at the elbow, turn your palm up and allow the ball to rest on your palm. Your other arm should cross your body to support the ball.
-
2
Step with your swing side foot, which is the foot directly under the ball, and push the ball away from your body. Both hands should extend away from your body until your elbow locks. Keep your arms parallel to the floor.
-
3
Let the ball swing down like a pendulum as you step onto your slide foot. Don't use your muscle to accelerate or decelerate the ball. Drop your balance arm down and position it toward the back and slightly out from the body to create a pivot point.
-
4
Swing the bowling ball backward as you step with your swing side foot. This step should occur just as the ball naturally hits the middle of the swing.
-
5
Finish the approach by bending the knee on your swing side deeply and letting your slide foot slide forward. Release the ball as it swings forward with your body. Your thumb should leave the ball before your fingers and your arm should continue the swing after the release.
-
6
Keep your back straight, your hips under your shoulders and your shoulders level as you step. Visualize your back and shoulders making a "T." Avoid stomping or shuffling as you walk by keeping your knees straight.
