How to Deodorize Boxing Gloves
Boxing is a sweaty business, and that sweat winds up both inside and outside the glove. On top of the odor of human sweat, damp boxing gloves sometimes serve as a breeding ground for bacteria, just like the inside of a well-used pair of shoes. Sometimes deodorizing a pair of smelly boxing gloves is just a matter of letting them air out properly, but if the interior has been colonized by stinky bacteria, more stringent measures are required.
Things You'll Need
- Antibacterial air or furniture freshener spray
Instructions

1
Wipe the exterior of the boxing glove off with a dry rag. If any stains are present, scrub these with a soapy rag and rinse with a damp rag.
-
2
Pull the sleeve of the boxing glove open to expose the interior as much as possible and set the glove on a hanger of a boxing glove tree. If no such tree is available, set it down in a well-ventilated place, such as an open window sill.
-
3
Sanitize and deodorize the interior of a boxing glove that still smells after airing and drying by spraying it lightly with an antibacterial air or furniture freshener, such as Lysol or Febreze.
-
4
Return the boxing glove to airing and drying, as the interior is now damp with antibacterial freshener.
