How to Parlay Bet in College Football

1
Look at the week's college football schedule and figure out the games that you have the best chance of determining the outcome. Research the teams and don't just pick out your alma mater or the team you used to root for as a child. You need to have solid reasons for liking one team over the other when the point spread is involved. The point spread is the difference that Las Vegas line-makers determine should be the difference in the game. If you see one team you like more than the opponent, that should be one of the teams you are considering for your parlay.

Pick out two different games and pick two winners against the point spread to bet a two-team parlay. If you like Florida to cover 23 points over Vanderbilt, and Texas to beat Oklahoma State by more than eight points, you can bet a two-team parlay on Florida and Texas. If both Florida and Texas cover the point spread, you win your bet. If you risk $100 on your two-team parlay, you will be paid $260, because a winning two-team parlay pays off at odds of 13-to-5.

3
Pick out three different winners to bet a three-team parlay. In order to win the bet, all three teams that you pick must beat the point spread in order to win your bet. If two teams cover the point spread and the other loses, than you lose your bet. However, you get paid at a higher rate if you win all three bets. A three-team parlay usually pays off at odds of 5-to-1. Some websites may offer a payoff at 6-to-1, but this is usually done to draw customers. Most Las Vegas casinos pay off at odds of 5-to-1.

4
Pick out four, five, six winners or more to bet multiple team parlays. Most gamblers stay away from parlay bets in general because it is hard enough to pick out one winner. However, once you get past trying to pick more than three winners, it is a very difficult proposition. The payoffs are quite high (10-to-1 for a 4-team parlay, and much higher as the number of teams played goes up), but the chances of being successful are quite low.

5
Remember that you are not picking teams to win the game. You are picking teams to cover the point spread. When the odds-makers make the line, they are trying to get even money played on both sides. That's why it's possible for a sharp handicapper to pick a winner. You have to find the games where one side has a decided advantage against the point spread in order to have the best chance of winning.
