How to Dress for Cricket

Cricket is a game that resembles American baseball. It's played on a grassy field with two teams of 11 players each. It's been an established sport for hundreds of years and is a major sport in England, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand and Zimbabwe. Cricket dress is a unique ensemble that you can put together if you know where to look.

Instructions

    • 1

Go online to a company that sells cricket clothing. You can also check out the inventory at a sporting goods store.

    • 2

Get a shirt that's made of at least 65 percent knitted polyester. Most cricket shirts have collars and a few buttons, but there are also contemporary v-neck styles available. The sleeves are 3/4 length.

    • 3

Find a shirt with vented side seams. This will keep you cooler while you're playing cricket.

    • 4

Buy trousers for cricket games and shorts for training. Trousers should be made of an elastic fabric for comfort and ease of movement. Many have an unfinished leg length for a custom fit.

    • 5

Look into cricket shoes. They have laces, metal spikes and a flexible sole. You can also buy metal and soft spikes separately.

    • 6

Top your head with a cricket hat. There are two choices--those that look like baseball hats and those that are sun hats with a full brim. Look for one with ventilation holes.

    • 7

Purchase socks that will keep your feet cool. Most are made of cotton, Lycra and nylon.
