1
Use a ruler and pencil to draw a large square in the center of the paper.
-
2
Lay a ruler across the top line of the square and mark off 10 even sections. Repeat this across the side of the paper.
-
3
Draw grid lines from each of the points. Start with the vertical lines until you have 10 columns. Draw the horizontal lines next and the 10 by 10 grid is complete.
-
4
Trace over all the lines with a black marker.
-
5
Write the home team name above the top section of the grid. For example, the New York Giants. Write the away team name on the left side of the grid. For example, the Dallas Cowboys.
-
6
Hand out the grid to families, friends and co-workers to fill their names in. Assign a single purchase point, $5 or $1 for example, for each grid square. Continue until the grid is filled.
-
7
Write the numbers "0" through "9" on separate pieces of paper. Place them face down on a table and mix them up. Select a number and assign it to the first spot on the top grid. Repeat this until each column on the top grid has been assigned a number. Repeat the process for each row on the side of the grid. Each person who selected a grid square now has their assigned numbers. For example, a person could have "4" for the New York Giants and "0" for the Dallas Cowboys. This person wins if the first quarter ends with a score ending in "4" for the Giants and "0" for the Cowboys.
-
8
Make multiple copies of the grid for the players to have. Use a highlighter to highlight the specific name of the copy you are handing out. This makes it easier for a player to track the numbers.
-
9
Watch the live football games or read results online. Take note of the final numbers for each quarter and the end of the game. Use the grid to find the winner. For example, if the scores were "14-10," "21-10," "21-13" and "28-16" the winners would be the "4-0," "1-0," "1-3" and "8-6" spots.
