How to Make Football Helmet Snaps

Football helmets, whether they are being used as a collector's item or an essential part of a football players uniform, all have specific parts that are vital to the appearance and functionality of the helmet. One of these parts would be the chin strap that helps secure the helmet on a player's head, keeping the helmet tightly in place and the player safe.

      Buy a box of snap buttons at your nearest arts and crafts store or hardware store. Any size or type will work. Purchase a football helmet chin strap at any sporting goods store, if you do not already have one.

      Place the helmet on your head and hold the chin strap in place on your chin, adjusting it for comfort. Mark the places where the ends of the chin strap come in contact with the helmet with a pen or marker, as these are the spots where you will place the buttons.

      Affix the buttons to the marked spots on each side of the helmet using super glue to hold the buttons in place.

      Affix the other sides of the buttons to each end of the chin strap with super glue.

      Hold the buttons in place for five to 10 minutes to make sure that the super glue has dried properly and that the buttons are securely fastened.
