How to Check Authenticity of Cameron Putters
Instructions

-
1
Check where the putter was made on any tags or packaging. Scotty Cameron putters are made in the United States, not China. Also, if you are ordering a Scotty Cameron putter online, be aware that it probably will not be shipped from China or Hong Kong if it is authentic.
-
2
Inspect the color of the Scotty Cameron inscription on the putter head. It should be red but not a cherry color. Also, the ink does not bleed along the border of a real Scotty Cameron putter. The inscription should be extremely sharp and crisp.
-
3
Check the depth of the groves and inscriptions throughout the piece of equipment. The depth will be exactly the same throughout each element on the putter. For example, each letter in the Scotty Cameron inscription will be the same exact depth. Run your finger over the groves and inscriptions to get a feel for any differences in the depth.
-
4
Check the seams where metal meets metal, especially around where the shaft connects with the head. The connection on an authentic putter is seamless without any noticeable welding marks or buckles.
-
5
Check the face of the putter. A real Scotty Cameron has a milled head that has groves while a fake will be smooth and flat.
-
6
Inspect the head cover. The dots will barely fit in each of the squares. The "M," "R" and O" in Scotty Cameron are the same fat width size on a real putter. The "O" appears almost to be a square on a real Scotty Cameron.
