1
Purchase a sheet of plywood and cut to it to three feet by five feet with a hand saw.
-
2
Cut the rubber foam the same size as the plywood to serve as padding for the golf mat. If the rubber foam is too thick for scissors, use a utility knife. Add more rubber foam or a thicker sheet if you would like more padding.
-
3
Spread the artificial turf on the floor. Using the rubber foam as a guide, trim the artificial turf to the same size as the foam and the plywood.
-
4
Spray or spread the adhesive to the plywood and attach the rubber foam to it. Spray or spread the adhesive on the rubber foam and attach the artificial turf to it with the grass side facing up. Be sure the artificial turf is taut so that it won’t snag the golf club during practice.
-
5
Mark a spot on the artificial turf for the plastic tee holder. Drill a hole through the first layer of the golf mat, which is the artificial turf. Glue the plastic tee holder into place.
-
6
Allow the golf mat to dry for at least a day before using to practice your putting skills.
