How to Measure Golf Club Swing Weight at Home

The swing weight for a golf club is represented by an alphanumeric code that indicates the amount of resistance it can endure when swung. You can find it by simply measuring the length and weight of your shaft, along with the weight of your club head. These measurements can be plugged into a number of online charts that will tell you the club's swing weight, also called the moment of inertia. The speed of your swing will dictate the ideal moment of inertia for you. If your club is already assembled, the head and the shaft will need to be separated in order to give precise measurements.
