Elbow pad sizes range from small to large and in sizes from youth to senior. Each manufacturer's sizes will differ, so it may take some trying on to get the perfect size for you. Senior pads are generally made to fit players that are 5 feet, 5 inches and taller.

      Put on your shoulder pads and gloves.

      Measure the space between the cuff of your hockey glove and the edge of your shoulder pad in inches or have someone do it for you. Measure down the center of your arm with your palms facing inward. Do this with both arms. A senior size small begins at 13.5 inches while a senior size large is 15.5 inches and above.

      With your measurements, visit your local hockey shop or sporting goods store. Make sure to bring your hockey gloves and shoulder pads with you.

      Find a few different brands of elbow pads you like. Throw on your shoulder pads and gloves as you try on the elbow pads to make sure you get the proper fit and no skin is exposed. Proper fitting elbow pads will have your elbow fitting into the center of the elbow pad cup comfortably.
