1
Put on your jock, hockey pants and skates. Putting these items on first will help when it comes to attaching your leg pads.
-
2
Lay the leg pads out in front of you, and kneel into them. Your knee should fit into circular pad in the middle.
-
3
Attach the calf strap. Make sure that you do not attach this strap too tightly, as this will restrict movement, but ensure that the strap is secure.
-
4
Attach the boot strap. This is strapped under the boot, and it should be connected tightly.
-
5
Continue to attach the straps moving up the leg. The farther up the leg you get, the looser the strap should be.
-
6
Stand yourself up from a kneeling position, and find somewhere to sit. This will be the most comfortable way to continue attaching the straps.
-
7
Attach the knee strap and continue strapping up to the thigh. The straps should again be looser the farther up the leg they are.
-
8
Stand up and assess how comfortable the pads feel. If your movement is restricted, loosen any straps that feel too tight. Conversely, if the pads do not feel snug enough, tighten up any areas that are too loose.
