How to Disassemble a Lacrosse Stick

A lacrosse stick is made of two main components: the shaft and the head. Although technically detachable, the two are connected extremely tightly so that even once unscrewed it can be difficult to separate them. Disassembling the stick is necessary should the head become damaged, as it is much cheaper to replace the part rather than the whole stick.

Using the screwdriver, remove the screw securing the head to the shaft. The screw is found right at the top of the shaft; it's usually covered by the netting. Different brands use different sorts of screws so check which sort of screwdriver you will need before beginning.

Heat the joint with hot water. This expands the metal and loosens the joint. Try working it apart with your hands. However, heating it may not be enough, or depending on the materials your stick is made of, have any effect.

Place the toe of one boot in the head and other on the loosened joint. Now try and lift the far end of the shaft upwards. Levering the shaft up an down will loosen it and it will come apart. It will be very tough work but it will come apart.
