How to Cut a Lacrosse Shaft at Home
For shorter players, the average lacrosse shaft is too long. To use the shaft without tripping over it, the shaft needs trimmed. You do not have to go to a sporting goods store to shorten the shaft. Common everyday tools found in a handyman's toolbox will shorten the shaft.
Things You'll Need
- Measuring tape
- Pencil
- Handsaw
- Sandpaper with fine grit
- Athletic tape

Determine how many inches you want to cut off the shaft. Measure the length of the shaft. Usually, lacrosse shafts are cut down to 37 inches.

Mark the bottom of the shaft where you want to cut it with a pencil. Pull the rubber end off the shaft.

Saw through the shaft with the handsaw.

Soften the cut by wiping sandpaper over the cut.

Place the rubber end on the newly cut portion of the shaft.

Secure the rubber end by wrapping athletic tape around the top part of it.
