How to Remove the Encore Extractor

Thompson produces the Encore EZ Tip Extractor. This is a device used to remove spent cartridges from the barrel of a gun. Unlike typical extractors, the Encore Extractor has a simplified removal process that does not involve removing the standard extractor to reach and remove the breech plug. You simply need to manipulate the tip. This shortens the cleaning time needed for the gun.

      Grasp the end of the Encore Extractor with one hand.

      Turn the extractor clockwise or counterclockwise with your hand.

      Align the plunger on the bottom of the lug on the extractor to an upright position in relation to the gun. This will release the tip of the extractor for further cleaning.
