How to Do a Front Flip in 3RUN

3Run is a professional acrobatic team that specializes in the sport of Parkour. Parkour, or free running, is the act of maneuvering quickly and fluently through obstacles using jumping, climbing and running techniques. One of the techniques used by 3Run is the standing front flip. The 3Run front flip is used to add style and flash between jumping obstacles. Like most tricks, practicing this technique will enable you to step up your game and try new tricks in the form of Parkour.

Instructions

    • 1

Start in a standing position with both feet together. Step forward with your non-dominant foot. Bring your other foot forward and place your feet together shoulder width apart. This will give you a slight boost of momentum to begin your front flip.

    • 2

Bend your knees and balance on the balls of your feet. Push off the ground using your legs and jump into the air.

    • 3

Raise your arms above your head and throw them downward toward your hips to create momentum in your flip. Tuck your knees toward your chest to help rotate your body. The faster you tuck, the faster your flip will be.

    • 4

Grab your knees with your hands as you tuck them into your chest and flip one full rotation in the air.

    • 5

Spot your landing using your eyes to view where your feet will be hitting the ground. Spread out and extend your legs to slow down your rotation. Land with both feet on the ground at the same time to complete the front flip.
