1
Maintain eye contact to stick a proper landing. Run forward gaining speed in the initial steps. Swing the arms upward straight above the head to propel the body into a tucked position. Keep the head high and choose an eye level focal point.

2
Always have a spotter or instructor available for safety purposes. Fully extend the arms overhead while jumping the feet together. Keep the upper body vertical while jumping upwards with the head facing forward. Tighten the abdominal muscles to strengthen the movement. Bounce using the balls of the feet, bending the knees slightly.

A running start will help propel the front flip. Initiate the flip by extending and lengthening the body through the upwards jump. Be careful not to tuck into the flip too early as it will not give enough motion to move from the ground. Curve into a ball in mid-air, grabbing the shins in rotation.

4
Master the front flip with repetitive practice. Time the front flip accurately in order to not over rotate. Stay in the tucked position for a brief second extending the arms and legs open once spun around. Practice the timing of the front flip in order to master the skill and properly land.

5
Secure the front flip with a perfect landing. Keep the upper body tight with the arms extended above the head. Maintain eye contact on the focal point while bending slightly into a seated position with the feet together. Practice sticking the tucked front flip while taking no additional steps to complete a perfect landing.
