How to Tell Your Coach You Got Bad Grades
Some schools have rules that stipulate students must maintain a certain grade point average or they cannot play school-related sports. If your school does not have such rules or you play in a non-school affiliated sport, you may still have to answer to your coach when it comes to bad grades. To continue playing, you'll need to convince your coach that your recent string of bad grades was just an anomaly and your grades will improve.

1
Approach your coach immediately before the next practice or game. Ask to speak to him privately.
-
2
Show him a copy of your grades and explain why you didn't do well in certain classes. Don't make excuses. For example, if you didn't understand the coursework, instead of saying that the class was too hard, say that you didn't understand the class and you should have asked for help.
-
3
Tell your coach that you want to keep playing and that you promise to improve your grades. Explain to him that you'll do whatever is necessary to keep playing, such as obtaining weekly written progress reports from each teacher.
