Rode Fast Fluoro Violet Special
-
Rode is one of the oldest Nordic wax producers. Developed and manufactured in Asiago, Italy, Rode offers a competitive product at a lower price. The Rode Fast Fluoro Violet functions best at a temperature range of zero to minus 2 degrees Celsius. Though the temperature coverage is slightly less than that of the Swix VR 45, it consistently tests faster then most leading brands and is a favorite of ski shop techs.
Toko Carbon Grip Wax Viola
-
The temperature range of Toko's Carbon Viola wax is more specific than that of the Swix VR45. With a range of minus 2 to minus 4 degrees Celsius, Toko enables the skier to become technically detailed on wax application. Its waxes use hydrocarbon in lieu of fluorocarbon. Although fluorocarbons are said to provide better glide and water repellency than hydrocarbons, they are extremely pricey. Toko eliminates the price gouging by producing an equally superior product at an affordable price.
Ski Go HF Kick Wax Violet
-
Ski Go offers high-fluorinated race waxes that are harder on the wallet, yet provide a broader temperature range. The Ski Go HF Violet encompasses a range of minus 2 to minus 15 degrees Celsius. This Swedish brand manufactures a wax that is useful in variable snow surfaces. With its high ratio of fluorocarbons, this hydrophobic wax excels in high humidity. It may be higher priced, but Ski Go's performance on snow is incomparable.
