How to Adjust Marker MX 10 Ski Bindings

Marker ski bindings use the industry standard Deutsche Industrie Normen, also referred to as DIN, to adjust and set their line of bindings. The DIN needs to be set for each individual skier based on their weight, skiing ability and style of skiing. The M series of Marker bindings, which includes the now-retired MX 10, uses a set screw to adjust the binding to the proper setting.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Place the skis with the Marker MX 10 bindings on a flat, level surface. Put on your ski clothing and gear, and then step onto the weight scale. Take down your weight with the gear.

    • 2

Look up the recommended DIN setting off the Marker DIN setting chart (see Resources).

    • 3

Grab the screwdriver and look at the back of the ski bindings. Find the DIN gauge, a red line going across a series of numbered hash marks; these are the DIN setting numbers.

    • 4

Turn the DIN set screw under the DIN gauge a quarter-turn to the right to increase the DIN setting or a quarter-turn to the left to lower the DIN. Make these quarter-turn increments until you reach the recommended DIN setting from the chart.

Push the ski boots into the bindings and lock them down then release to test the binding adjustment. Take a test run on a mellow or easy slope before hitting the harder hills. Do this to test whether the adjustment is working properly.
