How to Adjust Marker 4.5 Bindings

Marker USA produces equipment for alpine and alpine-touring, or "AT," style skiing. Included in this product line are a wide variety of bindings. The Marker 4.5 binding is a step-in binding with an adjustable DIN setting. Proper adjustment of this DIN is crucial both for safe skiing and for maximizing the performance from the binding and ski. Marker designs its bindings to be easy to adjust, with a large screw and readable DIN gauge in the back of the bindings.

Instructions

    • 1

Step onto the weight scale with all of your ski gear on. Measure your weight. Cross reference this with the Marker DIN Chart (see Resources) along with your level of ski ability to get your Marker recommended DIN setting.

    • 2

Place the skis with the bindings onto a flat work surface. Turn the DIN screw to the left by one-quarter turn increments to lower the DIN setting. Watch the DIN gauge to see where the setting is with each turn.

    • 3

Turn the screw to the right to increase the DIN setting.

    • 4

Push the ski boots into the bindings to lock them in. Release them once you have adjusted the DIN to the recommended setting. Put on your boots and ski gear and take a test run on a beginner or bunny slope to test your newly-adjusted bindings.

Move into more advanced terrain after testing your binding adjustments on the small slopes.
