1
Unlock the bars on the front and back of the rack. Lift them up to a 45-degree angle.
-
2
Pu the first pair of skis together so the ski bases are touching each other. Lift the skis up and slide them into the rack, tails facing forward, with the bindings centered in between the front and back holder.
-
3
Check that the bindings have enough clearance over the car roof by gently closing the bars onto the skis. If the bindings do not have enough clearance, remove the the skis and lift the hinged end of the front and back carrier. Then screw the rack back down onto the top mount in the lift position.
-
4
Take the next pair of skis and slide it into the rack, tails facing forward. Slide them until they are almost touching the first pair. Leave 1 to 2 inches of space in between the two pairs of skis.
-
5
Load the rest of the skis into the rack the same way. If you are loading a snowboard, it will take up the space of two pairs of skis. Close the rack bars and lock them in place.
